The surprise is the reigning world champion was not in the final Q3 session and the best of all, the poles positions were controlled by the debutant team. * Lewis Hamilton will start from 20th grid due to gear box change. His fourth gear malfunction during the practise which caused the entire replacement of the gearbox.
** The Toyotas will have to start from the back of the grid as well when FIA post qualifying report showed that the team had contravening the rules of regarding the wing. The wings were reportedly in extreme flexibility, against the Article 3.15 of the Technical Regulations. According to Article 3.15, wings must be 'rigidly secured' to the sprung part of the car and not have 'any degree of freedom'.
