DAY THIRTEEN: FRENCH ART AND FILM FESTIVAL 2010

The 10th French Film Festival 2010 will be happening around the country (specifically GSC MidValley, GSC Pavilion and GSC 1 Utama on 13 May - 23 May while GSC Gurney Plaza on 27 May - 2 June) beginning 13 May to 2 June. The film festival is only a part of the upcoming 2010 French Art & Film Festival (FAFF) which will be held in capital Kuala Lumpur and Penang.

Besides films from the L Hexagone, we are blessed that our country will once again been showered with the many acts from France. Among the highlights are the musical performances from Amelie, Trio Con Fuoco and Mouron. There are also dance performance entitled Amour (Love) (as inspired by the famous French sculptor and painter, Auguste Rodin) by Shanmuga Sundaran. He is India's leading classical dancers and among the best male exponents of his generation in the fine art form of Bharatanatyam. There is also a documentary called Mondovino which will be shown to audience for free.


For the Film Festival, this year local cinema chain operator GSC Cinemas will showcase 8 French movies; namely the award-winning Coco avant Chanel (Coco Before Chanel), L'Heure d'ete (Summer Hours), Et apres (Afterwards), Largo WinchDe l'autre cote du lit (Changing Sides), Je crois que je l'aime (Could This Be Love?), L'Heure zero (Towards Zero) and 13m2.

Showtimes for these movies are available on Cinema Online site and on the FAFF official website. The film festival will be held in separate city for different period of time. The audiences in Kuala Lumpur can catch the film festival on May 13-23 while those in north Penang will be held from 27 May to 2 June.
