On Saturday, our World Number One in Woman's Squash Single player, (Datuk) Nicol Ann David lost for the first time after a winning streak of 56 matches. Unbeaten since November 2007, she was finally brought down to earth by the World Number 4, Natalie Grainger of the United States when she lost the Final of CIMB Kuala Lumpur Open at Berjaya Times Square; 11-8, 10-12, 11-7, 5-11, 11-6 with the match took about 51 minutes.
On Sunday night, our another World Number One in Man's Badminton single player, (Datuk) Lee Chong Wei was beaten in the All England Super Series final against rival and former number one, who else if not Lin Dan of China. He lost in a straight game but surely he did better than last year's salvaged final of the Olympic where he only settled with a silver medal. In fact, it was Lin Dan that did a lot of unforced errors.
On another note, a young rising Chinese badminton star is meteoring the Woman's Single category. Wang Yi Han, aged only 21, muscled over Tina Rasmussen of Denmark to win the woman's All England title. She certainly did a great job but still made a lot of errors during the game in what I would thought it reminisence the Man's final. Watch out for this name, Wang Yi Han. She may be the next Xie Xingfang and I don't know why my friends said she looked pretty especially in one of the photo below (the one with Cheng Hong).
By the way, because I am still talking about Wang Yi Han, I found out some interesting point for you to ponder. Now compare these two pictures of the two badminton players.
Wang Yi Han of course.
