WARNING: THIS POST IS RESERVED FOR HUMANS ONLY…

DISTRICT 9 is an upcoming film feature from the acclaimed producer, Peter Jackson (The Lord of the Rings and King Kong) and it will be the main highlight for the upcoming Nuffnang Premier Screening. Directed by the relatively unknown South African director Neill Blomkamp, the movie will based on a short film under the same director.

If you have not seen this short film before, may I ask a few minutes of your time to watch this excellent video.

Many may have not heard of this movie before until recently; thanks to the increasing attention through the aggressive viral marketing. Science fiction and mysteries film fans will be delighted considering the contemporary theme and extra-terrestrial plot that are so intriguing and unique. I have been looking forward for this movie since the first teaser trailer was out in May.

If you have not seen the trailer as I have featured here once, go ahead and enjoy the thrill.

Looking at the poster alone is enough to tell you why this is something to be watched for.

The marketing team is brilliant when they turned these landmarks into something that will raise awareness and interests among the public. See what they have done.

Also if you have never bothered so much about the movie before, please do go to this website and choose yourself for the path of human and non-human. It looks like that their marketing strategy with the use of this viral campaign seems to be working.

Here is District 9's Official viral website at www.d-9.com.

Now you have my understandings and interests, please read the following facts and trivia about DISTRICT 9 before you are going or deciding to watch this movie soon:

FACT #1: THIS MOVIE SEEMS TO BE A CROSS-OVER BETWEEN TERMINATOR, ALIENS AND ALIEN NATION.

FACT #2: VIRAL CAMPAIGNS AS SUCH HAVE HELPED JJ ABRAM’S PRODUCTION, CLOVERFIELD TO DO WELL IN THE BOX-OFFICE LAST YEAR. THIS COULD BE THE SAME RESULT TOO.

FACT #3: A LITTLE ON THE PLOT:

"Thirty years ago, aliens made first contact with Earth. Humans waited for the hostile attack, or the giant advances in technology. Neither came. Instead, the aliens were refugees, the last survivors of their home world. The creatures were set up in a makeshift home in South Africa's District 9 as the world's nations argued over what to do with them. Now, patience over the alien situation has run out. Control over the aliens has been contracted out to Multi-National United (MNU), a private company uninterested in the aliens' welfare - they will receive tremendous profits if they can make the aliens' awesome weaponry work. So far, they have failed; activation of the weaponry requires alien DNA. The tension between the aliens and the humans comes to a head when an MNU field operative, Wikus van der Merwe (Sharlto Copley), contracts a mysterious virus that begins changing his DNA. Wikus quickly becomes the most hunted man in the world, as well as the most valuable - he is the key to unlocking the secrets of alien technology. Ostracized and friendless, there is only one place left for him to hide: District 9."

FACT #4: TREAT THIS AS A WARNING – REMEMBER CLOVERFIELD AND QUARANTINE? PLEASE DO NOT COMPLAIN ABOUT DIZZINESS, NAUSEA OR PERPLEXITY WHILE WATCHING THIS MOVIE!! THE MOVIE IS MADE IN THE HANDYCAM-HAND-SHAKE-MOVEMENT, DOCUMENTARY-STYLES AND INTERVIEW FROM FIRST PERSON VIEW TECHNIQUES.
