HOW TO SOLVE ENGINEERING QUESTIONS WITH INCEPTION SKILLS

Arrgggh....Engineering questions are never been easy and it takes much more cerebral fluid to handle one of them. It should not be an understatement when I say that the life of an engineering student is never easy. Oh, it is not just some fancy statement at all; but it involves a lot of analytical, understanding and commitment to study such! Fret not as some say that an engineer never worries for the answer but they only care about how to derive such an answer. Proof is?

However, some form of skills are still needed in solving some form of engineering problems! What skills you asked? With the movie Inception is recently been getting a lot of rave reviews and attention; I personally thought it was the best film so far (REVIEW) and no doubt an entertaining mind-bending sci-fi movie ever. It comes to much of surprise (even to myself) when I found out that using some Inception skills can help you to solve some engineering problems. 01) THE SKILL OF THE EXTRACTOR

WHO IS IT? Leonardo DiCaprio stars in Inception as Cobb, the Extractor. 
WHAT IS IT? An extractor pulls out information from the dreamer in a mission.
HOW IT IS RELATED IN ENGINEERING? If you are given an engineering question, first and foremost, read and understand the question. Then you are required to EXTRACT out informations given directly or hidden in within the question.

02) THE SKILL OF THE ARCHITECT

WHO IS IT? Ellen Page stars in Inception as Ariadne, the Architect.

WHAT IS IT? An architect restructures and builds the concept layout of the dream world prior to any mission.

HOW IT IS RELATED IN ENGINEERING? After EXTRACTing the information, it is now the time to draw a diagram that simplifies the structure of the question itself. Then fills in the extracted details so that you can see the whole thing with ease.

03) THE SKILL OF THE FORGER

WHO IS IT? Tom Hardy stars in Inception as Arthur, the Forger. 

WHAT IS IT? A forger enters a dream mission by taking any form of others to manipulate the dream.

HOW IT IS RELATED IN ENGINEERING? Usually in Thermodynamics, you need to assume some principle statements that everything is in steady, constant and ideal world. Or else, you need to assume a starting basis before you can answer a problem. Thus, forger requires some faking information to act up as an assumption.

04) THE SKILL OF THE POINT MAN

WHO IS IT? Joseph Gordon-Levitt stars in Inception as Arthur, the Point Man. 

WHAT IS IT? A point man responsibles for researching the team's targets in terms of background and understanding everything around the target.

HOW IT IS RELATED IN ENGINEERING? After you have made some assumptions, you can now start to CALCULATE, RESEARCH or to DESIGN your answers or design models. It's all about been a Point-Man at all the time!

05) THE SKILL OF THE CHEMIST

WHO IS IT? Dileep Rao stars in Inception as Yusuf, the Chemist. 

WHAT IS IT? The chemist formulates the drugs needed to sustain the dream states during the mission.

HOW IT IS RELATED IN ENGINEERING? This is particularly true if you are taking any chemical-related engineering course, you may still need some form of chemistry basis to enable engineering problems be solved.
