For week number one, American Idol traveled to cities of Foxborough, Massachusetts and Atlanta, Georgia. Besides the three regular judges in the form of Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson and Kara DioGuardi; Victoria Beckham will guest-judge at Foxborough while Mary J Blinge will be at Atlanta. Ellen DeGeneres will permanently replace Paula Abdul as the fourth judge when the show progress.
HERE ARE THE HIGHLIGHTS OF THE WEEK
P/S General Larry Platt is not an army, but rather an important civil rights leader in Atlanta during the 1960s. In fact, the City of Atlanta designated September 4, 2001 as Larry Platt Day for his "priceless and immeasurable contributions to society" and "his great energy and commitment to equality and the protection of the innocent and for his outstanding service to the Atlanta community and the citizens of Georgia."

Maddy Curtis, the 9th of twelve children and sister to four siblings with Downs Syndrome (three of which are adopted) could not be sweeter. Her audition of "Hallelujah" had the judges sending her to Hollywood unanimously.
(04) "Mallorie Haley takes a 'piece of my heart' in Atlanta"
(05) "Justin Williams is 'Feelin' Good' in Boston"
He has an amazing journey where he has to battle with cancer for once in his lifetime. You may remember Williams whom joined up with eventual finalists Kris Allen and Matt Giraud plus awesome rapper India Morrison to perform the Jackson 5 hit "I Want You Back." It was great, one of the best group performances. By the way, please note at Simon's reaction!!
