DAY SEVEN: ALEJANDRO

Little Monsters,

It's Day Seven of the Blogathon Word Count. Today it's all about the fame and the monsters. Watching the video below should be good enough to justify what a day will be. Day seven I reserved for Alejandro.

Alejandro, the third single from Lady Gaga's The Fame Monster justifies the notion that indeed she is talented. Mind not, the fashion display continues and her last night's performance in American Idol Top 5 result show continues to showcase her varieties. This time she goes Spanish-style with a little twist of ballad disco in the form of Ace of Base and ABBA. Something about the Swedish connection and some Mexican too.

Lady Gaga is as hot as the Mexican latina. Enjoy the video and I'll be back for more for Day Eight!!

AMERICAN IDOL 9: WEEK THREE - LOS ANGELES

No, no!!! I'm not the official blogger for those guys at Fox and American Idol and I'm doing without been paid, of course. Just want to clear things up on why I keep on posting about American Idol this season. Well, just called it as what I am really into these days. Nevertheless, continuing my week-by-week American Idol's report, shall we?

This week (Week 3) on the ninth season of American Idol, they traveled to Los Angeles and Arlington for the next round of audition. With 32 from Foxborough, 25 from Atlanta, 13 from Chicago and 31 from Orlando, we have a total of 101 golden tickets so far. So, let's recap the California round. Oh, before I forgot, Avril Lavigne guest judge on Day One while Katy Perry judged on Day Two.

RECAPS OF AUDITION IN LOS ANGELES

(1) Neil Goldstein's high IQ is never enough

He is the only one who claimed that he deserved to go to Hollywood. No one else?

(2) Mary Powers, a mom who can rock it all

One comment said, "Her voice a little remindsme of Pink". How true!!

(3) AJ Mendoza, an "Adam Lambert" wannabe

A failed attempt, hell yes!!

(4) Andrew Garcia, a father will lots of story to tell

With Sunday Morning, he sailed through and we expect he will sailed through

(5) Tasha Layton and Jason Greene

One go through, the gay didn't. Tasha will sure be another top contender, will she?

(6) Chris Golightly and a divided decision

He goes through with his rendition of simple "Stand By Me"

So, I guess highlighting the seven contestants are enough said right? Fifth stop at Los Angeles has produced 22 golden tickets. We will have next stop at Arlington, Texas for another Week three roundup very soon. Stay tuned!!

RECAPS OF AUDITIONS IN ORLANDO

He refused to leave despite his horror in singing “Amazing Grace”. They have no choice but to make him leave on a handcuff. Classic Simon for his “Yes or No?”

Inside this 10 minutes video, we have:

AMERICAN IDOL 9: WEEK TWO IN CHICAGO

American Idol Season 9 continues their search for the next singing sensation. Week two, we arrived at Chicago, Illinois and Orlando, Florida and again, the search for the American Idol brought some laughter, enjoyment and humiliation. Last week, a total of 56 golden tickets were given. How much would it be this week?

The audition in Chicago has the three regular judges accompanied by country pop sensation, Shania Twain.

RECAPS OF AUDITIONS IN CHICAGO

(01) Amy Lang makes all judges stoned

(2) Brian Krause does Tiny Tim and tip toes off the stage

He was told that he was weird yet he still weirdly tip toes off the stage.

(3) Katelyn Epperly impressed the judges

(4) Charity Vance quietly wows the windy city with “Summertime”

She’s 16 and she’s the second Golden Ticket winner in Chicago.

(5) Angela Martin got her third chance to shine and is “Just Fine”

After two failed attempts at "American Idol," losing her father, dealing with a daughter with Rett Syndrome and then having her mother go missing this past Christmas, one has to think Angela Martin has some good things coming her way this time around on "Idol."

(6) John Park wows Shania Twain

Suddenly Shania Twain goes crazy!!

Well, that’s all for the great and worst audition in Chicago. Due to unforeseen event with the passing of Sultan of Johor, the audition episode in Orlando scheduled for Friday night on 8tv was cancelled. We will see it soon on another post.

AMERICAN IDOL 9: WEEK ONE

So, as I have mentioned last time around, American Idol new season has back. The season nine started with some great audition by those hopeful contestants. The season as in its traditions, would start by showing a few auditions try-out in several cities across America before the crucial Hollywood week and semi-final

For week number one, American Idol traveled to cities of Foxborough, Massachusetts and Atlanta, Georgia. Besides the three regular judges in the form of Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson and Kara DioGuardi; Victoria Beckham will guest-judge at Foxborough while Mary J Blinge will be at Atlanta. Ellen DeGeneres will permanently replace Paula Abdul as the fourth judge when the show progress.

HERE ARE THE HIGHLIGHTS OF THE WEEK

(01) "Pants On The Ground - the best moment of the week"

P/S General Larry Platt is not an army, but rather an important civil rights leader in Atlanta during the 1960s. In fact, the City of Atlanta designated September 4, 2001 as Larry Platt Day for his "priceless and immeasurable contributions to society" and "his great energy and commitment to equality and the protection of the innocent and for his outstanding service to the Atlanta community and the citizens of Georgia."

(02) "Skii Bo Ski - A new Snoop Dogg?"

WAIT AMERICAN IDOL...Skii Bo Ski may not be eligible after all...the reason is...

(03) "Maddy Curtis stands out in Boston"

Maddy Curtis, the 9th of twelve children and sister to four siblings with Downs Syndrome (three of which are adopted) could not be sweeter. Her audition of "Hallelujah" had the judges sending her to Hollywood unanimously.

(04) "Mallorie Haley takes a 'piece of my heart' in Atlanta"

(05) "Justin Williams is 'Feelin' Good' in Boston"

He has an amazing journey where he has to battle with cancer for once in his lifetime. You may remember Williams whom joined up with eventual finalists Kris Allen and Matt Giraud plus awesome rapper India Morrison to perform the Jackson 5 hit "I Want You Back." It was great, one of the best group performances. By the way, please note at Simon's reaction!!

(06) "Katie Stevens is 'At Last' in Boston"

For her grandma!!

(07) "Norberto Guerrero - Oh No!!"

Simon says, 3 year old girl with a beard dresses like latoya jackson auditions.

(08) "Jermaine Sellers really sells it in Atlanta"

(09) "Pat Ford - Womanizer wannabe with a Holler"

Well, more of the auditions next week when American Idol travels to Chicago and Orlando!! Till then, signing off...

David Cook, remember him from the last season's American Idol winner? Yes, he did great jobs these days. Great first single and rocking debut album after American Idol 7. However, things do not just stop there.

"Light On" was the first single in his debut album, a self-titled "David Cook" released back in October. Although the first single did not did that well, only a mere top 20 in Hot 100 US Billboard Countdown, his album did well by going Platinum in US - a shipment of more than 1 million copies. Anyway, time fast forward until today. David Cook has released a second and third single; where two singles will go for the airwaves and singles chart. Followings are his two new singles in town:

She is one of the AI contender is now on Bottom 3 which eventually it was revealed she has the lowest votes. The judges used the SAFE ticket on her (video here). Too bad, she was still eliminated. Many fans and non-fans were surprised by the votes she received, that I am caught by the surprise as well. Did she performed terribly like the other bottom 3?

alexis
ALEXIS GRACE WAS VOTED OUT

Anyway, American Idols will always be drama and more drama. Besides, i still enjoyed the performances week after week. This week, I have chosen Anoop Desai, Kris Allen, Matt Giraud and Scott MacIntyre's performances as the best of the week.

Next week, the Top 10 will be heading for a performance based on Motown. Motown is a popular recording company which have produced many acts during its golden era in the lights of Jackson 5, Stevie Wonder and so much more. For sure it's back to R&B and Soul!! By the way, due to some official presidential telecast, American Idol for next week will be on Wednesday and Thursday.

Anyway, the theme for the Top 11 or the second week is Grande Ole Opry. If you don't know what is that, is okay. I'm not sure either - but after digging in the Wikipedia, I think it refers to any songs popularized by members performing in this show. It's back to the rodeo and country. See you on Wednesday!!!

JUST BECAUSE I DON'T BLOG ABOUT, DOESN'T MEAN I'M NOT AN AMERICAN IDOL FAN

It's a serious case if my title for this post proved to be too long. Hey, this will be my longest title ever.

Anyway, American Idol Season 8 has reaches the Final Concert Weeks now. So far, I have never mention anything, not a word about the latest season on my blog yet. Well, it does not mean that I am not an AI fan or I don't care about it. After weeks of keeping silence, hence now I think it's time to break the silence and get myself into serious business.

Over the years, American Idol adopted many different approaches to come out with the Final Top 12. I especially prefer the new (or not so new) current system of wild card. Over the years some prominent AI alum in the lights of Clay Aiken and Jeniffer Hudson were wild card selected and yet they did extraordinary well. As Simon said before, the wild card serves a chance for the viewers and judges to look back at some of the contestants that we might have overlooked or perhaps were even better than those voted through but did not performed well. Hmmm, I agree with you Simon. The additional judge is a good idea as well where the balance in gender can be seen now!!

Well, I do not want to talk so much about the process but here is basically the run down of the whole list for the Top 13 Finalist. Well, I think been Top 13 is a brilliant idea despite the usual Top 12 spots. Nevertheless, the concert weeks were always the prime light of the show, bringing the best from each other. Many tipped a certain player to win and some in the process will be one of the judges' favourites.

Here, the run down of the Top 13.
KRIS ALLEN, 23, Conway-Arizona

MEGAN JOY COCKREY, 23, Sandy-Utah

ANOOP DESAI, 22, Chapel Hill-North Carolina

MATT GIRAUD, 23, Kalamazoo-Michigan

DANNY GOKER, 28, Milwaukee-Wisconsin

ALEXIS GRACE, 21, Memphis-Tennessee

ALLISON IRAHETA, 16, Los Angeles-California

ADAM LAMBERT, 27, Hollywood-California

SCOTT MACINTYRE, 23, Scottdale-Arizona

JASMINE MURRAY, 16, Starkville, Mississippi

JORGE NUNEZ, 20, Cidra, Puerto Rico

LIL ROUNDS, 24, Memphis-Tennessee

MICHAEL SARVER, 28, Jasper-Texas

Well, that's all for now. Do catch the first concert performance this Tuesday night in US, Wednesday evening in Malaysia. The first concert's theme will be Michael Jackson's Hall of Fame Songs. This is a tough one, but here we go!! THIS IS AMERICAN IDOL

MY LIFE WOULD SUCK WITHOUT YOU

As the title above suggesting that my life will suck if you are going to leave my blog, in which I hope you won't, please do enjoy your few moments of uploading the video below and take a listen.

Yes, my sweetheart Kelly Clarkson is back to entertain you with yet another pop rock-ing tune that I'm sure you will get addicted after listening to it just a few times. This is a promise from me if you are a fan of her or at least you do enjoy her previous songs which ranged from the three albums. Well, Kelly is one of my favourite artiste, even before she was announced as the champion of the inaugural American Idol back in '02.

Kelly Clarkson's fourth studio album, "All I Ever Wanted" will be out in store during my birthday. (Yeah, do jot that down) Among those who have worked much in producing this album were including Ryan Tedder of OneRepublic, Max Martin, Howard Benson, Dr. Luke and many more.

The first single from the album will be "My Life Would Suck Without You". Released since January 20 but was gaining most airplay recently. I heard this song last week and I instantly went searching for the song on the net.

Here's the official music video. It features Kelly and her boyfriend dumping stuffs from their apartment after apparently an arguement. The title may sounds a little "emo" but the story in the music video suggest otherwise. Anyway, GreenTeaWorld!! premier the music video here in the Nuffnang and other related blogospheres.

Anh the lyric:

Kelly Clarkson Lyrics
My Life Would Suck Without You Lyrics

The song had already reached number one spot in US Billboard Countdown. It ruled the Hot 100, Hot Digital Tracks and Hot Digital Songs for two weeks before been dethroned this week by the Eminem's latest collaboration with Dr Dre and 50 Cents "Crack a Bottle".

Besides that, the song also broke the record for the highest leap to number 1 spot, jumping from #97 to #1, breaking the record previously held by Britney Spears' "Womanizer". This was also Kelly's only 2nd number 1 on Hot 100 Billboard and her 8th Top Ten.

Selling like hot cake, the song is now certified as GOLD status by Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA).

What else to say, do enjoy OK!!
